Suburban Nest is located in Orange, New South Wales, Australia 2800.
The "Pinnacle Wine District" starts a stones throw from Suburban Nest. This is a prime agriculture area and features a range of food produce outlets and several wineries including: Philip Shaw, Colmar Estate, Ross Hill, Brangayne, Word of Mouth Wines, Pinnacle Wines and Borrodell Estate.
Drive the picturesque loop around Pinnacle Road which starts just next to the subdivision and passes Lake Canobolas and the Lakehouse Café and ends at a T-intersection with Cargo Road.
Turn left to discover the “Cargo Road Wine District” including: Rowlee, Dindima, Cargo Road Winery, Gordon Hills, Canobolas Smith, Stockmans Ridge as well as Small Acres Cyder.
Not far (Pinnacle Road/Mount Canobolas Road) is the Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area which offers birdwatching, walking, scenic views and pretty picnic areas.
Drive to the summit of Mount Canobolas, an ancient volcano that stands 1395 metres above sea level and is the highest peak between the Blue Mountains and the Indian Ocean. A stunning 360-degree view from the summit encompasses the city of Orange, the rolling countryside and the Blue Mountains in the distance.
